A specialist in maternal-fetal health from BIDMC holds outpatient clinics at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport several times each month to provide counseling and management to our high-risk pregnant patients. She also performs targeted Level II ultrasounds and offers genetic screening tests such as first trimester screening
Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist Karen O’Brien, MD works collaboratively with our physicians and midwives to keep high-risk pregnant patients’ care and delivery close to home. This reduces stress on patients who no longer need to travel substantial, inconvenient distances for specialty care. Should a patient require more advanced services, her care can be transferred and coordinated seamlessly with the team at BIDMC.
